Cape Coral Wellness Center to host an Open House
Residents are encouraged to make a stop at the Cape Coral Wellness Center next Wednesday to check out what the facility has to offer for free for the entire day.
Cape Coral Wellness Center Member Service Supervisor Roxanne Seefloth said they host the open house every couple of months because there still are a lot of people who do not know they are located in the community.
“We try to do it every couple of months just to get our name out there in the community,” Seefloth said.
The Wellness Center, which is behind the Cape Coral Hospital at 609 S.E. 13th Court, has been open for 11 years and is the only medically based fitness center in the area. The facility offers a 25-yard multi-purpose pool, a warm exercise pool, three group studios with up to 100 classes a week and a basketball court.
In addition, the Wellness Center also offers health seminars, lectures, programs and health screenings to its members.
Individuals will have the opportunity to take any of the center’s classes on Oct. 12, along with playing basketball, swimming or using any of the equipment and cardio machines.
“They are encouraged to try whatever they feel like trying,” she said.
Seefloth said they have been encouraging their members to bring as many guests as they want on Wednesday for free.
Seefloth said although a gym membership in this economy is still considered a luxury, they are headed in the right direction in terms of the number of memberships they currently have. She said they are seeing a lot more employees take advantage of the Wellness Center.
The Cape Coral Wellness Center, Seefloth believes, is a special facility because every member is greeted by staff at the front desk by their first name.
“We are sort of a family here,” she said adding that a lot of their members spend between 2-3 hours at the center just to hang out.
The Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
