Chamber puts out call for Luminary volunteers
The Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 27th annual Luminary Festival on Sanibel and Captiva Islands on Friday, Dec. 2 (Sanibel) and Saturday, Dec. 3 (Captiva). This year, there will be more live music and entertainment and more trolley stops and the Chamber is calling for Luminary volunteers.
The Chamber is in need of approximately 100 volunteers to help man trolleys and stations, and help ensure safety for all guests participating in the Luminary Festival. Mike and Linda Miller of How & Miller, CPA’s are heading up this year’s Luminary Volunteer Committee for the Chamber of Commerce. The Miller’s need you to help make this year’s Luminary celebration the best ever.
On Luminary Festival Weekend, our islands welcome the arrival of the holiday season. The streets are lined with illuminated bags, trees are decorated, Santa appears and local businesses open their businesses to friends and guests to celebrate this magical event. Luminary is a community-wide event to bring together our local business owners, residents, employees, and guests to the islands.
Luminary guests will be able to travel the candlelit trail from one end of Periwinkle Way to the other end by complimentary trolley services that offer many opportunities to stop and enjoy music, entertainment, drinks and snacks. There will be designated trolley stops at all the major shopping centers on Sanibel and Captiva on their respective nights.
Mike and Linda Miller will be looking for volunteers to man a total of six total shifts over the course of both days. If you can help, please contact Linda Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org Look for more information in Chamber’s newsletter or in this newspaper.
