No swim advisory lifted for Yacht Club Beach
The Lee County Health Department is lifting its advisory on Cape Coral Yacht Club beach.
Water samples taken on Wednesday indicate enterococcus bacteria concentrations have returned to safe levels for swimming, officials said.
Enterococcus bacteria normally inhabit the intestinal tract of humans and animals. The presence of an elevated concentration of these bacteria is an indicator of pollution, which may come from storm water runoff, pets, wildlife, or sewage.
The next routine beach water sampling of 13 public beaches will be taken on Monday, Oct. 3, with results available 24 hours later.
