New Cape resident reports missing jewelry
A woman reported that nearly $6,000 in jewelry is missing from the belongings that she had shipped to Cape Coral in a moving truck.
The woman stated that her personal property was loaded onto a moving truck in August to be transported from New Jersey to her new home in the Cape. The truck arrived last week, along with the boxes of her belongings.
While opening the boxes, she discovered that the tape on the box that contained her jewelry box had been disturbed, according to a police report. When the woman checked the jewelry box, she found three items missing.
The items are a 26-inch yellow gold chain with a Star of David, pair of large 14-karat yellow gold hoop earrings and a diamond and tanzanite ring.
The jewelry is valued at approximately $5,750.
