Homeless awareness event to be held in Cape Coral

In Lee County there are an estimated 3,400 persons without a place to call home. The Lee County Homeless Coalition, through a union of many diverse community groups and individuals, is working to end homelessness.

The public is invited to “One Community…One Future” – the first Homeless Awareness Event on Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Club Square, 4620 SE 10th Place in Cape Coral.

The goal is to raise awareness about homeless issues and create connections between individuals, organizations, and businesses that provide services to those who need assistance. Food and entertainment will be provided at no charge. Approximately 25 provider agencies have signed up to participate in this event.

Businesses or organizations which would like to be included are asked to reserve a spot by Oct. 10.
