An American Red Cross Lifeguard Course will be held at the Sanibel Recreation Center on Friday, Sept. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upon completion of this three-day course, participants will be certified as Professional Rescuers in lifeguarding, first aid, and adult, child and infant CPR / AED.

The American Red Cross is going paperless and now offers course manuals online. For step-by-step instructions for downloading and printing the course manuals please contact the Recreation Center. Course cost is $180 for Rec Center members and $225 for non-members. Must be at least 15 years old to register and able to attend all class sessions. Please call the Rec Center for swimming ability prerequisites. Class size is limited; register now.
