Anderson, island Realtors attend Orlando trade show

Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors President Judith Anderson, Immediate Past President Jim Hall and Realtor members Susan Andrews, Mike Badenoch, Margie Davison, Lisa Murty, Ray Ochester, Eric Pfeifer, Toby Tolp and Ira Zlatkin were among Realtors around the state attending the Florida Realtors 95th Annual Convention and Trade Show, held Aug. 24-28 in Orlando.

The Convention & Trade Expo brings Realtors together to discuss and vote on key issues that shape their profession and association. In addition to committee meetings, members take advantage of the Trade Expo (more than 125 companies showcase their latest products) and attend educational seminars and forums. Topics include handling short sales, social media trends, personal branding and home pricing strategies.

During the convention, Association President Anderson delivered a special “Sanibel & Captiva Islands” presentation at the Resort and Second Home Specialists Forum; attendees were delighted to learn about the islands and many expressed their thanks after the meeting.

Top industry speakers included: Brian Copeland, familiar to many from “Flip That House” on The Learning Channel; Chandra Hall, a certified instructor on short sales and foreclosures; and Doug Devitre, a nationally recognized consultant on technology and social media solutions.

Florida Realtors provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 115,000 members in 64 local boards and associations throughout the state; Realtors are the only licensed real estate practitioners required to adhere to the Code of Ethics prescribed by the National Association of Realtors.
