Main parking lot at ‘Ding’ to close Monday
On Monday, Aug. 15, the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge will close its main parking lot for renovations. The refuge’s Education Center and Administrative Building will remain open during regularly scheduled business hours, as will the Wildlife Drive.
Refuge visitors will be directed to use the overflow parking lot located across from the main parking lot to the west. Tarpon Bay Explorers’ guided tram tours will continue their regular schedule, and the tram booth will also be temporarily relocated to the overflow parking lot, near the tram pickup.
The re-opening of the refuge’s main parking lot is anticipated to occur on or around Oct. 1. For more information please contact the J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge at 472-1100 or via e-mail at dingdarling@fws.gov.
