Hall named 2011-12 board chair for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida has named its 2011-12 board of directors. These individuals will provide leadership and support for local Junior Achievement programs, fulfilling its mission to educate young people in Southwest Florida about business, economics and free enterprise.

Officers on the executive committee include David Hall, executive vice president/CFO of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, as chair; Carl Howes, vice president/controller of Pachira Company, as chair-elect; Gerry Poppe, CFO of Waterman Broadcasting, as second chair-elect; Tom Pitser, senior investment consultant of Robert W. Baird & Co., as treasurer; and Lisa Barnett-Van Dien, attorney with Cheffy Passidomo, P.A., as secretary.

Additional board members include Betsy Alderman of Northern Trust Bank, Steve Brown of John Madden Company, Steve Bueltel of Dawson Companies, Mark Graves of Comcast Cable, Candis Loving of BlueCross BlueShield of Florida, Butch McGovern of Smith Insurance & Bonds, Charlotte Miller of Florida Power & Light, Kim Presanzano of CenturyLink, Hudson Rogers of the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University, William Price of McGarvey Development and Curt Todd of U.S. Trust.

Chairman Emeriti include Bob Bassett of BB&T Bank; Richard Durnwald of Northwestern Mutual/Durnwald & Associates; Constance Jones, Ph.D., of the School District of Lee County; Larry Medley of Wells Fargo Advisors; and Dilman Thomas of BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Co.
