By Staff | May 25, 2011

Join Captiva Cruises on one of their educational outings — "called "Science at Sea" — with members of the SCCF staff, where passengers can learn more about the marine wildlife that inhabits our local waterways.

Captiva Cruises will be launching its “Summer Season of Family Programs” with special Sunset Cruises with legendary island musician and songwriter Danny Morgan aboard the Lady Chadwick on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A Dinner Cruise to Barnacle Phil’s on North Captiva for great food, live music and a sunset over the Gulf will also be offered this Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Captiva Cruises also offers day cruises to Cabbage Key and Useppa Island, Shelling cruises to Cayo Costa State Park, afternoon Dolphin Cruises with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), Sunset and “Sailing Under The Stars.” Captiva Cruises can also organize amazing private expeditions and cruise charters on any of our vessels with as few as six passengers on up to 148 passengers.

This holiday weekend will kick off Captiva Cruises Summer Season of Family Fun programs with something for everyone! Ask us about our new summer educational kids’ programs including Family Fishing, Shoreline Discovery and Science at Sea Cruise where we will be observing and identifying the unique inhabitants within our Back Bay that we pull up with our research trawling net. Kids will be able to choose from a variety of educational adventures and be a part of Captiva Cruises’ exciting Summer Junior Marine Biologist Program.

Additional information and reservations for any of Captiva Cruises’ programs may be obtained by calling Captiva Cruises at 472-5300.
