By Staff | May 20, 2011

The Sanibel School third graders will have a tree planting day at Bowman's Beach. It is part of a project the students have been conducting throughout the school year.

The Sanibel School third graders have been conducting a Tree Study Project throughout the year and will culminate this project with a Tree Planting Day at 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Bowman’s Beach.

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) has been conducting tree study activities with the third graders during the school year. Each student has a tree that they have been observing, measuring, researching and writing about and now it is time to plant their trees.

This project is a cooperative venture between SCCF, The City of Sanibel and The Sanibel School. The trees will be planted along the fitness trail at Bowman’s Beach to help with habitat restoration efforts. Community members are welcome to come and help the third graders plant their trees.
