LCEC customers can say goodbye paper, hello green!
LCEC recently added new functionality allowing customer to go green by turning off their paper bills through the LCEC website. Once enrolled in the program, customers receive a monthly e-mail notification when their bill is due and have the option of paying with a multitude of payment options.
Enrollment is available at www.lcec.net and click on Account Access and Paperless Billing on the home page.
The environmental benefits of paperless billing are:
• Reduce pounds of paper (trees saved) every month
• Minimize greenhouse gases
• Reduce wastewater from paper production
• Decrease gas used to deliver bills
The benefits to LCEC customers are:
• Reduction of printing and postage costs
• Convenience of managing bills anytime, anywhere
• Less mailbox, desk and kitchen counter clutter
• Less wasted paper in the trash (eg. bill, envelope and newsletter)
• Reduced threat of identity theft
LCEC is a not-for-profit cooperative and customer are members. Operational cost reductions benefit customers by helping to keep rates low.
Another benefit is that equity is allocated to customers when revenues exceed expenses. Over the years, LCEC has been able to return more than $164 million in equity to active and inactive customers.
In addition, LCEC offers AutoPay and payments can be deducted from checking or savings accounts automatically. Customers can also pay their bill by phone using a credit/debit card or a checking or savings account. No hassle, no late payments, no stamps, no paper!
