Pictured at the display is our very own Betty Anholt reading with Rocky. You can see Rocky is enjoying the selection by way of the kiss he just gave Betty! Rocky is a part of the children’s program "Read To Our Dogs," which is held on Thursdays at 4 p.m.

Hey, pet lovers! We’ve got stories for you at the Sanibel Public Library. Whether your best friend is a dog or a cat, a fish or a bird, or even a monkey, you are sure to find a good book or movie about your favorite animal on our shelves.

A wide variety of books featuring your feathered, and furry friends are on display in the Reference Area. Titles include:

“The Chimp Who Would Be Human” by Elizabeth Hess

“Keep Chickens!” by Barbara Kilarski

“Pot-Bellied Pigs and Other Miniature Pet Pigs” by Lisa Hall Huckaby

“The Natural Pet Food Cookbook” by Wendy Nan Rees with Kevin Schlanger, DVM.

Looking for a good movie? Try “Tom and Jerry, the Chuck Jones Collection,” “Turner and Hooch” or “Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.” If you can’t find what you are looking for, ask for help at the Reference Desk.
