Fash-McHenry named Executive Director at CHR
The Board of Community Housing & Resources, Inc. will be welcoming the new Executive Director of CHR/CICLT, Nancy Fash-McHenry, at the annual meeting to be held on Saturday, April 9 starting at 10 a.m. at the CHR offices, located at 2401 Library Way.
Fash-McHenry, recently a resident of San Jose, Calif., brings to CHR 30 years of expertise in strategic marketing, resource development and management of services related to community development. She has a passion for public service and has served on numerous boards for charitable organizations, education and public municipalities.
Nancy’s experiences include serving as the Executive Director of Teach Social Silicon Valley, a San Jose-based non-profit that builds innovative and engaging prorams, providing support and services for individuals with social cognitive challenges. She was the Director of Marketing, Communications and Grants for InnVision, the largest homeless service provider in Silicon Valley, and worked with organizations on affordable housing, and recently with Below Market Rate Programs in five counties in the San Francisco Bay Area and Central California.
During her tenure with the American Red Cross as the Regional Manager, Fash-McHenry oversaw strategic operations, fund development and was highly successful in both developing and furthering its regional capacity. At American Red Coss she also served in National Disaster operations in family services, corporate fundraising, and managed disaster operations for the communities of South Santa Clara County.
Fash-McHenry has written columns and lectured on community health matters. She has previously worked with Community Solutions of Morgan Hill, and Asian Americans for Community Involvement as V.P. of Development and the National MS Society as Director of Development and Major Gifts Officer. As a Development Consultant, Nancy has supported organizations throughout California with strategic planning. She studied Marketing Communications and Psychology at SJSU and is curently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Management and preparing for the CFRE exam from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She received her credential in fund development from Indiana University’s School of Philanthropy.
The CHR Annual Meeting is an opportunity for the board, staff, volunteers, members and tenents to get together for a review of the CHR/CICLT’s goals and achievemets, as well as challenges presented throughout the year. The public is most cordially invited to attend, with this first opportunity to meet Ms. Fash-McHenry who will be officially joining the CHR team on May 16.
