Dorsey joins Sanibel Captiva Trust Company

Last week, Sanibel Captiva Trust Company announced that Patrick Dorsey, nationally known market analyst and former director of equity research for Morningstar, Inc., will join the company as vice chairman, director of research and strategy, effective March 28.

Dorsey, a driving force behind the development of Morningstar’s equity research process as well as Morningstar’s economic moat ratings, will work with Sanibel Captiva Trust Company to lead the firm’s investment research and portfolio management efforts. He will also serve as chairman of Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s asset management committee.

Adding to Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s significant investment expertise, Dorsey will enhance the firm’s disciplined approach to investing and help broaden the services currently offered to its clients. In his new role, Dorsey, currently a Sanibel Captiva Trust Company board member, will oversee all research efforts, assist in new business development, and help oversee certain major client accounts.

Dorsey will also manage the company’s recent investment in Suncoast Equity Management, an institutional investment management firm based in Tampa, Florida. His nationally recognized research capabilities will deepen the company’s investment analysis efforts.

Dorsey will join Tim Vick, Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, in the company’s Chicago office located at 980 N. Michigan Avenue.

He has also appeared on NBC Nightly News, CNBC and CNN. Dorsey has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune and Business Week. Dorsey holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst. Dorsey joined Morningstar in 1998, where as director of equity research he led a team of more than 100 equity analysts.
