Margaret Mohundro, left, executive director of the Sanibel Public Library, accepts a check from Lee Almas of the Rotary Club of Sanibel-Captiva.

The Rotary Club of Sanibel-Captiva has provided funding for a special business collection as part of the Sanibel Public Library’s eShelf service.

The funds are providing more than 50 audiobooks and ebooks available via the Library’s website. Users may download the books to MP3 players, SmartPhones, Nooks, eReaders and other devices.

“The Rotary Club approached the Library about supporting this technology for the business community, and we’re extremely grateful,” said Margaret Mohundro, executive director of the Sanibel Public Library.

Among the new titles are:

• 101 Small Business Ideas for Under $5,000

• 42 Rules of Social Media for Small Business

• Aligning Human Resources and Business Strategy

• All About Bonds, Bond Mutual Funds, and Bond ETFs

• Business Plans that Work

• Crisis Economics

• Perfect Phrases for Leadership Development

• Strategy Business Forecasting

The Sanibel Public Library wanted to capitalize on the popularity of its eShelf downloadable book service, and wanted to build a special business-related collection.

The Rotary Club has show support for library technology initiatives in the past, most recently with its funding of Early Literacy Workstations in the Library Children’s Room.

The eShelf service, began at the Sanibel Public Library in Fall 2010, offers audiobooks and ebooks for download focusing on current titles and popular authors. The service is funded by the Sanibel Public Library Foundation, Inc.
