On Monday, RE/MAX of the Islands proudly announced that Jeanne Risher was their top listing and marketing associate in February while Deb Stone was tabbed as last month’s Top Sales Associate.

In 2005, Jeanne Risher and her husband, Tom, moved to Sanibel. She obtained her real estate license in 2007 and had been with another office until moving to RE/MAX of the Islands in late January.

In 1978, Risher graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a business degree majoring in finance. She began her career in marketing for Pepsi Cola in their Miami office. After three years, she was hired by the marketing department of Southern Bell Telephone/AT&T selling telephone and data equipment and services.

In 1985, she accepted a position with JM Family Enterprises/Southeast Toyota (distributor of Toyotas in five southeastern states). Her role as Director of Telecommunications gave her the opportunity to manage a highly selective team of Telecom Engineers, who maintained voice and data communications for the companies’ 3,500 employees, 162 dealerships and corporate offices throughout the U.S.

“Jeanne is a tremendous asset to her clients and they appreciate her hard work. She has a wealth of business and management experience,” said Art Corace, broker and owner of RE/MAX of the Islands. “Jeanne knows how to prioritize and handle the multiple tasks required to complete a real estate transaction. We are extremely happy for her successful transition to our office.”

Many years ago, Deb Stone bought investment property here while vacationing on Sanibel from her hometown of Duluth, Minn. In 1985, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a full time Sanibel resident and obtained her Florida real estate license in that same year.

While living in Minnesota, Stone worked as an accountant in the KMG Accounting firm. She believes her background in accounting keeps her organized and focused on the many details involved in bringing a real estate transaction to a successful closing.

When Deb was asked what she enjoyed most about the real estate business, she replied, “Discovering ways of innovative marketing for my seller clients and bonding with my buyer clients and really getting to know them and their needs.”

Stone loves to cook, experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with friends and clients. Other outside interests include travel, fishing and enjoying the many other facets of the island lifestyle.

“I’m a cancer survivor, so I believe I have deep appreciation for life and truly enjoy helping people fulfill their dreams,” Stone added.
