The 2011 World Day of Prayer was held on Friday March 4, at the Captiva Chapel By-the-Sea with representatives and clergy from the six Island Churches.

More than 100 Christians attended this annual event, the theme of which was, “How many loaves have you?” featuring a sermon written by the women of Chile.

Churches from all over the world, from sunrise to sunset, celebrated this beautiful service with prayers, Bible readings and songs. A free will offering of $1,050 was collected and will support the work of the World Day of Prayer USA and will help meet the needs of unfortunate families in Chile.

The 2012 World Day of Prayer will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 and hosted by St. Michael and All Angel Episcopal Church. The theme, “Let Justice Prevail,” will be written by the Country of Malaysia.
