The Captiva Civic Association has finally revealed the much-anticipated “ABC Auction Item List,” which contains only a sampling of the many items that will be up on the block during the CCA’s 45th annual ABC Sale Dinner & Auction in March.

Among the many traditional ABC favorites, including the ever-popular Captiva fire engine ride, there are a lot of unique items — and experiences — up for auction this year.

Unique to this year’s sale is a “Harley Ride with the Reverend” around the islands with Chapel By-the-Sea Reverend Tom Nyman.

For the nature lovers and outdoorsman, the auction list contains an a full-day Jensen’s powerboat rental, a round of golf and lunch for four at the Sanctuary Golf Club, a Useppa Island yacht cruise and luncheon, Ocean-Kayak Peekaboo Tandem Sit-on-Top with paddle, a Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation guided safari jeep tour and, a major item of the night, the 17 foot Pathfinder Tunnel Hull Flats Boat, donated by Jim and Gayle Pigott.

For those that appreciate the finer things in life, a $1,500 Congress Jewelers gift certificate, an assortment of fine wines, a set of Luc Century etched wine glasses, and a designer jewelry creation from Lily & Co. are all on the 2011 ABC auction list, in addition to a signed and framed limited edition Robert Rauschenberg lithograph.

Wilson Brewster takes the wheel with Grandpa Michael Tangney's help. The fire truck ride is an ABC Auction favorite and good for kids of all ages as well as parents and grandparents.

But of course, some of the most highly-awaited items of the whole night will undoubtedly be the ABC designer mirror frame art challenge, of which four local artists — and one group of very crafty ladies — are participating in.

The 45th annual ABC Sale Dinner and Auction takes place on Saturday, March 12 at The Sanctuary.
