Bunt’s Ball Busters pounded the hapless One Ball Wonders, 11-5, to take an almost insurmountable lead in the Sanibel 8-Ball Pool League with only three weeks left to play in League’s 21-week season.

The Ball Busters lead Fresh Legion Crew by 19 games and will meet them head-to-head for the last time next Monday night. It’s possible for the Legion Crew to win all l6 games next week to close the gap, but highly unlikely.

Third place Sanibel Café surprised second place Fresh Legion Crew and handed them an 11-5 loss. The big win puts Sanibel Café seven games in front of the One Ball Wonders and almost assures that the Wonders will occupy the League’s cellar only three years after winning the League championship.

The highlight of the Sanibel Café match was the 4-0 victory John Earle posted over lady shooter Carole Johnson. Johnson is the sister of Gary Wilson, who also has not won a game in League play. Both are seeking private instructors.
