Vascular Screenings to be held Saturday
The City of Sanibel Recreation Center will host the Radiology Regional Center’s Vascular Screenings on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Radiology Regional Center is committed to offering Health Screenings at an affordable price and in an easily accessible and comfortable setting. This allows patients to be proactive in making their health care decisions. Each screening study is performed by a registered ultrasound technologist and is reviewed by a board certified radiologist skilled in the interpretation of the study and in making necessary recommendations. No prescription is needed and no prep is required.

The following screenings will be offered:
• Carotid Vascular Test — The Carotid Vascular screening test utilizes B-mode and Doppler ultrasound technology to assess for blockage of the carotid arteries. Assessment will be made for plaque formation, aneurysm and blood flow.
• AAA Test — The AAA screening test is an ultrasound assessment of the aorta for abdominal aneurysm and plaque formation within this major artery of the body.
• ABI – Circulation Screening Test — The ABI is a circulation screening test measures the bilateral pressures of the arms and legs to assess for peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
• EKG Test — An electrocardiogram, or EKG, is a simple, painless test that records the heart’s electrical activity. An EKG shows how rapidly your heart is beating and if the rhythm of your heartbeat is steady or irregular. This test is used to detect and evaluate many heart problems, such as heart attack, arrhythmia, arterial blockage, and heart failure.
