Crash victim ID’d

Officials have identified the man who died after his motorcycle crashed into a mini-van, also injuring his passenger.
The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Glen Cardona, 35, of 5314 4th Street West, Lehigh Acres. The passenger on the motorcycle, Jessica Huber, 31, of 827 Bethany Court North, Fort Myers, was transported to the hospital suffering serious, but non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
The accident, which occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday on College Parkway just east of South Pointe Boulevard, remains under investigation.
The name of the driver of the minivan has not yet been released. She was not injured.
No other details are available at this time, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement released Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 9:00 pm on February 8, 2011, deputies were dispatched to an accident on College Parkway just east of South Pointe Boulevard. Due to the severity of the accident, detectives with the Traffic Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

The accident occurred when a motorcycle ran into a minivan. The male driver of the motorcycle was killed. The female passenger on the motorcycle was injured and transported to the hospital. The driver of the minivan, a female, was not injured. The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
