Arrest made in Beach bank robbery

After release of the surveillance photos taken by cameras at a Wachovia Bank branch on Estero Boulevard, multiple tips were received by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers identifying the robbery suspect as 66-year-old John Bobby McGee, of 5811 Lauder Street, Fort Myers Beach, officials said.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Sheriff’s Office and members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force continued to follow leads on the whereabouts of McGee, which led them to a local hotel. McGee was located late Tuesday afternoon and taken into custody without incident.
Cash stolen from the bank was found in McGee’s pockets, officials said.
