Cape homeowner reports theft

Costume jewelry and collector Barbie dolls were stolen out of a garage in northeast Cape Coral, according to a police report.
A man told police that over the last couple of months, boxes of Barbie dolls and costume jewelry have gone missing. The items had been stored for about two years in boxes in the garage. Four of the five boxes were reported missing.
The stolen items are valued at $15,625, according to the report.
The items include bracelet jewelry, vintage jewelry, two antique doll sets, one Majic Barbie, four antique Barbies, four antique China dolls, 40 pieces of antique jewelry, beaded and mesh bags, one antique doll and costume jewelry.
The man told police that he often leaves his garage door open.
He was advised to keep his garage door shut when not outside, the report states.
