Time Zone by Congress Jewelers opens in Periwinkle Place

By Staff | Dec 7, 2010

Time Zone carries fun, colorful watches, including this model — called the "Green Ice" watch — manufactured by Ice.

The newest retailer at Sanibel Island’s Periwinkle Place — Time Zone by Congress Jewelers — offers a fun, fashion-forward collection of watches priced from $50 to $1,500.

The boutique carries a variety of brands, many never before offered in Southwest Florida, including Swiss Military, Invicta, Ed Hardy, Ice, Danish Design, Gucci and Techno Marine.

“This is not your mother’s jewelry store,” said proprietor Scot Congress, who oversees the store with partner Leon Benzrihem. “It’s bright and colorful, and the watches are playful and sporty. Although they’re trendy, they’re affordable, and the variety offers something for everyone – even your mother.”

The store’s cases are filled with timepieces, some with oversized faces and neon-colored bands. Many styles are very lightweight, and several are water-resistant models.

Time Zone by Congress Jewelers, next door to the original Chico’s, is open 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon until 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 239-472-1222.

Time Zone is affiliated with Congress Jewelers, a family-owned retailer that has operated in Periwinkle Place since 1983, specializing in an exclusive selection of elegant diamonds, colored gemstones, fine designer jewelry, Rolex timepieces and the Sealife by Congress collection, including the original Sanibel sandals. Its experienced staff offers watch service and repairs, jewelry design, production and repairs, appraisals and estate buying.
