Taste event a huge success
To the editor,
On behalf of everyone at CROW, and especially on behalf of our wildlife patients, we would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Taste of the Islands a huge success.
The participating Sanibel and Captiva restaurants showed everyone their civic pride and generosity, but they also showed what wonderful cuisine can be found on these islands. Thank you to the restaurant owners and staff who worked so hard to help CROW.
We also appreciate the efforts of Iron Chef Judge Chris Cassel and our Waiter/Waitress Competition organizer Robert Parks. Congratulations to all of our award winners.
We also want to thank our sponsors for their generosity. Heartfelt thanks go out to Bank of the Islands and Edison National Bank for being our presenting sponsor this year. Each year, their staff helps us manage, distribute, collect and count the money from the day’s activities.
A big thank you to the over 100 volunteers who contributed their time, energy and efforts on the day of the event. An event like the Taste can’t succeed without the help of volunteers and CROW’s Taste of the Islands committee members. A sincere thank you to the entire staff for their dedication to CROW and all the extra hours to ensure the success of this event!
We appreciate the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs who helped man the parking areas. The Sanibel-Captiva Optimists Club coordinated the children’s activities at the event and with the help of BIG Arts face-painting and Catering by Leslie Adams cookie decorating, the children had a terrific time.
And finally, thank you to each and every one of you who attended the 2010 Taste of the Islands. All of the money raised goes directly to helping us care for nearly 4,500 wildlife patients each year.
Mark your calendars for Nov. 20, 2011 to help us celebrate the 30th Annual Taste of the Islands Festival.
