BIG Arts Classical Afternoons Series features pianist Vanessa Perez
On Sunday, Dec. 12, BIG Arts will present a classical afternoon concert featuring pianist Vanessa Perez beginning at 3:30 p.m. Her program will include Brahams, Albéniz and Chopin.
Tickets are $31 for general admission seating; or Classical Afternoon Series tickets are $81 for three concerts. Students/children are admitted free with a paying adult.
Venezuelan-American pianist Vanessa Perez made her debut at age 11 in Caracas performing the Grieg Piano Concerto before an audience of 2,500 people. After winning top prizes at numerous competitions in the United States, South America and Europe, she has continued to perform in concert halls and festivals throughout the world.
Perez performed on the La Jolla Music Society Discovery series in San Diego and at New York City’s Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2004. Recordings of her performances have recently been featured on various media, including Robert Sherman’s Young Artists’ Showcase on WQXR-FM in New York City, WFMT in Chicago, Boston’s WGBH and Washington, D.C.’s NPR station.
In addition, Perez recorded a CD with the Moritzburg Ensemble, and has also recently collaborated with violinist Joshua Bell and bandoneon player Carel Krayenhopp for an upcoming Sony release.
