Author to speak about domestic abuse at BIG Arts

By Staff | Nov 29, 2010

The BIG Arts Women’s Issues discussion group will host author Nancy R. Koerner, who will lead a talk about domestic violence, at Phillips Gallery on Thursday, Dec. 9 beginning at 10 a.m.

Koerner is a writer and public speaker who lives in Naples, Florida. Her book, Belize Survivor: Darker Side of Paradise, is based on her true experiences of pioneer life and domestic violence in the jungle. Full of moral dilemma, it is a story of one woman’s survival, her strength in overcoming adversity, spiritual growth and eventual triumph.

Specializing in women’s issues, Koerner lectures to help women make the courageous decisions to move toward their own redemption and autonomy.

The public is invited to join the discussion at BIG ARTS Phillips Gallery, located at 900 Dunlop Road, on Dec. 9. Tickets are $5 at the door.

BIG Arts Workshops are sponsored by Sony Corporation of America.
