Sanibel Air Conditioning suggests there is still time to take advantage of federal tax credit

By Staff | Nov 23, 2010

With holiday shopping already under way, the owners of Sanibel Air Conditioning would like to remind you how you can save a little bit of money before the end of this year.

Yes, you can actually save some money during the holiday season and receive it back at tax time. During the course of this year, the federal government has been giving away $300,000,000 worth of tax credits to homeowners who make sustainable upgrades to certain parts of their properties. Even though each homeowner can only receive a portion of that amount, it’s a very good deal to take advantage of.

How this deal works is that you can receive up to $1,500 in federal tax credit if you purchase a high-efficiency air conditioning unit, heat pump or furnace equipment prior to the end of 2010. This amount is nearly triple what was available in 2008. Other household incentives such as insulating and upgrading of windows and doors also qualify for this credit.

“I think that this is a great program that will save you money on the initial purchase and then help you cut back on future energy use,” said Bryan Hayes, owner of Sanibel Air Conditioning. “Many of our clients have already taken advantage of this deal, so don’t miss your chance, stop by and see as today.”

If your comfort system is nearing the end of its lifecycle, the average is about 8 to 10 years, it might be a good time to talk with Sanibel Air Conditioning about this tax incentive before either time or the funding runs out.

For more than 20 years, the Hayes family had been installing, maintaining and upgrading air conditioning systems exclusively on Sanibel and Captiva. What began with a single employee, Dan Hayes, who retired and sold the business to his sons Bryan and Todd in 2006, has since grown to a staff of 18.

What has not changed, however, is Dan Hayes’ vision:“To provide our customers with quality, reliable service when you need it, and remembering our customer’s names.”

A family owned and operated business since 1988, Sanibel Air Conditioning provides homes and businesses with the best quality air conditioning service available on the market.
