Fresh Legion Crew still leading 8-Ball Pool League standings

By Staff | Nov 19, 2010

League standings tightened as the fourth place Bunt’s Ball Busters posted a 9-7 win over second place Sanibel Café and third place One Ball Wonders did the same to front-running Fresh Legion Crew.

This sets up two big matches next Monday at American Legion Post 123, with the top two teams competing as well as the two bottom dwellers. Come watch the bloodshed. No charge for admission.

The only perfect 4-0 score of the night came from Butch Bouchard from the One Ball Wonders. The highlight of his four games was the first safety Butch called and executed since he began playing the game at the age of 10. Although he was elated to win his four games he emphasized later that “Playing safe ain’t the way young guys like me should play the game.”

With his lovely wife Sally looking on and providing morale support, Rich Ennis from Bunt’s Ball Busters finally shook off his accumulated summertime rust and won both of his two games against Sanibel Café Captain Richard McCurry. Based on the Ennis performance, Ball Buster Captain Bob Buntrock guaranteed that Ennis could play four games on the next League night, on Monday, Nov. 22. Winless Kip Johnson (0-10) will sit out.
