Public fingerprint availability to change

By Staff | Oct 28, 2010

One of the most frequently asked questions received by members of the Sheriff’s Office is whether or not fingerprint services are offered. The answer is yes.
Some employers and organizations require either electronic or black ink fingerprints as part of the pre-employment screening process. Sheriff’s Office clerks at area district offices will continue to do the fingerprinting, but extra hours and services are being offered beginning Monday, Nov. 1.
A half day has been added for Mondays with hours for the service available from noon to 4 p.m. Fingerprinting will continue at the district offices Tuesdays through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All five district offices offer ink-rolled prints and three provide both electronic and ink-rolled print services. Locations, available services and contact information for questions are as follows:
— Alpha District, 121 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers; Phone: 477-1810 — electronic and ink-rolled fingerprinting available
— Bravo District, 1123-B Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres; Phone: 477-1820 — ink-rolled fingerprinting only
— Charlie District, 15650 Pine Ridge Road, Fort Myers; Phone: 477-1830 — ink-rolled fingerprinting only

— Echo District, 12995 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers; Phone: 477-1850 — electronic and ink-rolled fingerprinting available
There is a $5 fee and those needing fingerprints must bring their own their own fingerprint card. The card must be filled out in black ink only. They must also provide a valid picture identification card.
