Southwest Florida International Airport reports September traffic

During September, 374,590 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 4.1 percent compared to September 2009. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 0.6 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in September was Delta with 86,411 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (53,985), Southwest (52,686), JetBlue (45,778) and US Airways (39,474).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,754 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 3.1 percent compared to September 2009. Page Field General Aviation Airport saw 5,677 movements, an increase of 3 percent from September 2009. In addition, more than 2.5 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in September 2010.
