Computers stolen from Cape Hospital’s SHARE Club

By Staff | Oct 2, 2010

Nine laptops, including carrying cases and mouses, were reported stolen Wednesday from Cape Coral Hospital.
Police responded to a call at about 9:27 a.m. at the hospital, located at 636 Del Prado Blvd., S. Teresa Frank-Fahrner, program coordinator for the SHARE Club, reported that nine Toshiba Notebook computers were missing from the club’s training lab. The computers were used for the senior training program.
According to a police report, the notebooks were kept in a storage closet in the training room, where they were accessible to employees, volunteers and students. Frank-Fahrner said the training room doors are always locked, but the door to the storage closet is not locked.
Frank-Fahrner reported that Thursday was the last time she was in the storage closet. She recalled leaning over the area where the notebooks are kept, but she did not notice them missing at that time. She believed that she would have notice at that time if they had been missing.
All of the computers are contained in individual carrying cases, along with a USB mouse and a power supply. The missing items are worth about $11,635.
Anyone with information can contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).
