By Staff | Oct 1, 2010

Sanibel Water Attack Team (SWAT) is a year-round swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool — 25 yards — in order to participate.

Practices will start on Monday, Oct. 4. Practices will be offered five days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Participants will also be given the option to participate in local meets.

Registration fees are only $125 per swimmer per quarter for members and $156 per swimmer per quarter for non-members. The first quarter will run from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. USA Swimming Memberships, team suits and caps can be selected at an additional cost. Please call the Sanibel Recreation Center at 472-0345 for program details.

The Sanibel Recreation Center is located at 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road. Daily, weekly and annual memberships are available. For more information, visit www.mysanibel.com.
