Volunteers needed to plant red mangroves in Clam Bayou

By Staff | Sep 21, 2010

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) is conducting three additional red mangrove planting events, this Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 23-25.

Volunteers will collect red mangrove propagules, paddle into Clam Bayou (located on the west end of Sanibel Island) and wade into the water to plant red mangroves. We encourage volunteers to bring kayaks if they have them.

Interested participants must register prior to the event for meeting time and location. Please contact Sabrina Lartz at 395-4617 or e-mail her at slartz@sccf.org.
