Report: Jewelry stolen from Cape home

By Staff | Sep 9, 2010

Nearly $8,000 in jewelry was reported stolen Wednesday from a southeast Cape Coral home, according to a police report.
At about 11 a.m., police responded to a home in the 600 block of Southeast First Avenue, where the victim wanted to report a burglary. The woman told police that an unknown person had entered her home, opened a jewelry chest box storage unit and took out a plastic bag that contained the missing items.
The items are a charm letter, a yellow gold bracelet, a tennis bracelet, a ruby and diamond ring, a men’s ring, a V-shaped diamond ring, a men’s initial ring, a solitaire diamond ring, a one-carat engagement ring and a sapphire wrap-around ring, according to the report.
The jewelry is valued at an estimated total of $7,950.
Police observed no signs of forced entry into the home. The jewelry box unit was processed and a latent print was obtained from one of the unit’s pull-out draws, the report states. The print was submitted into evidence for analysis.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223.
