The Royal Shell Companies help feed F.I.S.H.
F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service Here) recently indicated their cupboards were just about bare as the need for food and assistance was rising.
“This is always a difficult time of year for us,” stated Maggi Feiner, President of F.I.S.H. “Season has not begun and resources are low."
Upon hearing of the situation The Royal Shell Companies made an immediate decision to help.
“It is part of our commitment to our community to give back whenever possible," said Randy Bacik, CEO of Royal Shell. "One of our ongoing efforts is the collection of food throughout the year in cooperation with the SCVRMA (Sanibel Captiva Vacation Rental Managers Association). Though we have collected over 10,000 pounds of food for those in need, these economic times call for more to be done.
"Today’s donation to F.I.S.H., our on island pantry, will assist them in fulfilling their immediate goals to feed families in need until more food donations can be collected,” Bacik concluded.
Bill Fellows, Vice President of F.I.S.H. expressed his appreciation to The Royal Shell Companies for “coming forward to assist when the need is very great.” The number of families with children and senior citizens being referred to F.I.S.H. continues to rise and the community is urged to drop off food items to F.I.S.H. whenever possible.
