‘Taste of the Town’ to serve up a variety of offerings

By Staff | Aug 28, 2010

BJ’s Wholesale Club will host its third free Taste of the Town event open to the public today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“The Taste of the Town events were started as an opportunity for BJ’s Wholesale Club to give local restaurants great exposure as well as to provide a fun, interactive and appetizing shopping experience for members and nonmembers to enjoy,” Community Relations specialist Sandra Aguilar said.
A signature dish will be prepared for those in attendance who want to sample food from Hooters, Bob Evans, Panda Express, El Tropical Cuban Restaurant, Starbucks Coffee, McDonald’s, Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Panera Bread, I Ragazzi Pizza, Sweet Tomatoes, Fort Myers Diner and Chili’s Grill and Bar Restaurant.
American Legion Post 38, Tupperware, Italian American Club and Leone Italian Food Speciality also will offer samples for individuals to taste.
BJ’s will provide iced tea and other dessert products for our members, Aguilar said. The event will not serve any alcoholic beverages.
A raffle will also be held at the event for participants to win gift certificates, among any other product the restaurants provides.
Aguilar said they will have ballon artist Claudia Chica and general arts and crafts for kids. She said children can create bookmarks and animal puppets on a stick. DJ DC will provide the music.
“The Taste of the Town event helps to establish a connection among local restaurants, area restaurants and our Club where shoppers are able to sample signature dishes from favorite local eateries while finding savings from BJ’s wide assortment of top-quality, name brand items,” Aguilar said.
The event will be held at BJ’s Wholesale Club at 1929 NE Pine Island Road.
