Sign up for workshops in youth dance, pottery, technology and more
BIG ARTS has announced the workshop schedule for season; signups are ongoing. New offerings this year include rattan reed baskets, writing poetry, and new jewelrymaking classes. Technology classes will teach students how to use iTunes, iPad, iPhone apps and more.
BIG ARTS Winter Academy welcomes professors who will lecture on art history, economics, music and art appreciation, religion and international law.

Youth Dance: Ballet, Basic Tap, Hip Hop classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 14, and will be held at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Instructor Kathleen More has been dancing since the age of eight and teaching for more than 20 years.
Classes are as follows:
• 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. — Ballet & Basic Tap: Ages 3 and 4
• 2:40 to 3:25 p.m. — Ballet & Jazz: Grades K – 2
• 4:20 to 5:15 p.m. — Ballet & Hip Hop: Grades 3 – 5
Pottery on the Wheel with Kelly Williamson will be held Tuesdays, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. starting on Sept. 7.
Clay Expressions with Gail Jones will be held Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m. starting on Sept. 27.
Voice and Musical Instrument Lesson signups are starting now for fall. Piano, flute, and sax classes are offered to adults as well as children. Jennifer Valiquette will hold saxophone and flute lessons. Steven Cramer will teach voice as well as piano lessons for adult students.
