County issues 33 single-family home permits in July

During the month of July, contractors pulled permits to build 33 single-family houses collectively valued at $7.2 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares to 46 permits issued in June and 33 issued in July 2009, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.


Also in July, permits were issued for 28 multi-family units, all duplexes. That compares to four in June and eight in July 2009.


There were 13 permits issued in July for new commercial buildings collectively valued at $1.4 million, compared to $4.9 million in June and $2.1 million in July 2009.


Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development, and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
