Camille G. Smith
“” name=”Title” />
Camille Smith of Sanibel and Powell, Ohio passed away on June 22, 2010, ending a two-year battle with lymphoma. She was 75.
Camille attended Penn State University and later earned a PhT (Putting Hubby Thru) working at Cornell University. She was proud of her 30-plus years as a volunteer docent at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium.
Her love of grandchildren, friends, shopping, family dinners, flowers, art, home ‘decorating’ and Sanibel beaches will always be remembered. She enjoyed golf, other sports and social activities as a 47-year member of Worthington Hills Country Club and a 17-year member of The Sanctuary Golf Club in Sanibel.
Camille had many valued friends and never met a person she didn’t know. Her generosity to friends and family was legendary.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert; three sons and their wives — Gregory and Jacki, Bradley and Margi, and Trent and Meg; 11 grandchildren; and her ‘special family’ — Christy and Scott Gray and Karen and Edwin Huston.
A memorial service was held on June 26 in Worthington, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, 115 Broadway, 13th Floor, New York, NY 10006 (www.lymphoma.org), or The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, P.O. Box 400, Powell, Ohio 43065 (www.columbuszoo.org). Online condolences may be left on www.schoedinger.com
