Three injured in boating crash

By Staff | May 8, 2010

Three people were injured in a serious boating accident at the end of Coral Point Drive Saturday. A center console boat hit sea wall at high speed, officials said.
All three occupants were determined to be trauma alert patients. One was transported by Med star and two were tranported by ambulance to area hospitals.
Cape fire divers searched for any other possible victims but determined that the number of people in the boat was, in fact, three, officials said, adding a Lee County Sheriff’s Office helicopter also responded to the scene to assist in the search.
The boat topped the seawall and ended up partially on land.
Florida Marine Patrol was expected to conduct an investigation.
No other information was released.
