Royal Shell-sponsored car show raises money for PURRE

By Staff | Apr 21, 2010

PURRE (People United to Restore our Rivers & Estuaries), headquartered on Sanibel, was the beneficiary of this year’s Tahitian Gardens Car Show.

Held last month, The Royal Shell Companies second annual car show raised $5,241 for PURRE, a non-profit organization whose mission is to insure that water quality in all of Southwest Florida continues to improve.

“I am proud to support PURRE and all of their efforts. The islands are one of a kind and all of our continued support is critical to keeping Sanibel and Captiva a special place,” said Don DeLuca, Broker of Royal Shell and General Counsel of RLR Investments, LLC. “We are lucky to have organizations like PURRE behind these great causes and will continue to support PURRE on their endeavors.”

A highlight of this years show was the R+L Racing Hauler & Show Car. With close to 50 vehicles and motorcycles in pristine condition to view the addition of the R+L Racing Hauler and show car gave attendees the experience of sitting in and starting a real race car. Many patrons took advantage of the opportunity and the smiles on their faces attested to the thrill of the experience.

Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers from PURRE, The Royal Shell Companies and the community at large who came together to create an event enjoyed by many. The Royal Shell Companies are pleased to support PURRE and their vision for healthy estuaries and overall water quality throughout Southwest Florida.
