Tri-Town Fishing Tournament gets hooked for Make-A-Wish kids

By Staff | Apr 19, 2010

This year’s Second Annual Tri-Town Classic Fishing Tournament, where 100 percent of all proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida, is just weeks away.

On Saturday, May 1, more than 20 boats will drop their lines in the local waters of Southwest Florida as they battle for the most inches. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams while one special child’s wish will be sponsored.

Reservations will be accepted until Friday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. when the tournament kicks off at T.G.I.Friday’s in Coconut Point for the Captain’s Meeting.

Immediately following the tournament – between 4 and 7 p.m. – there will be a Weigh-In Luau Party at Hickory Bait & Tackle with fun for the whole family. A local rock & roll band will be performing live while San Carlos Park Firefighters serve up a traditional pig roast with all the fixins. Other activities will include games, a silent auction and a raffle for a minimal donation.
