For the second year in a row, players from The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club won first place in the Gulf Coast Men’s Interclub competition, which began in October. Here, the group accepts their trophy.

On April 12, The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club secured first place in the Gulf Coast Men’s Interclub (GCMI) golf competition for the season, the second year in a row The Dunes has won this event.

The GCMI is a seven-team tournament league with monthly competition among the member clubs. Each club sends a team consisting of 12 amateur gentlemen golfers plus one professional to each match. Players representing each club typically vary from event to event, depending on who qualifies for that month’s team based on internal competition.

The GCMI participating clubs include The Dunes, Gateway Golf & Country Club, Gulf Harbour Golf & Country Club, Kelly Greens Golf & Country Club, Legends Golf & Country Club, Magnolia Landing Country Club, and Olde Hickory Golf & Country Club.

GCMI Vice President and Dunes team member Jack Roberts explained that the objective of the Interclub league is to promote friendly competitive golf, camaraderie among the clubs, and an opportunity for members to play a variety of courses.

The Interclub season begins in October and ends in May, with each club hosting one tournament.
