City seeks applicants for Vegetation Committee, Contractors Review Board

The Sanibel City Council is now accepting applications for the Vegetation Committee. Appointees must be residents of Sanibel and have passed the Vegetation Competency Test. The Vegetation/Fertilizer Class and Test is provided quarterly.

The next scheduled class is Friday, April 2 at 8 a.m. and the date for the competency test is Friday, April 9 at 8 a.m. The Vegetation Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in MacKenzie Hall at City Hall, located at 800 Dunlop Road.

Sanibel City Council is also accepting applications for the Contractors Review Board. City Council recently increased the size of the Contractors Review Board from six members to nine members. The additional members consist of one at-large member with no current contractor industry involvement, one (Florida preferred) Engineer and one (Florida preferred) Architect.

Appointees must meet the following qualifications; 1) have been residents of the City of Sanibel for at least two years prior to the date of appointment; and 2) appointees must remain active authorized and/or certified throughout their term.

Application deadline is Friday, April 9. Any resident wishing to apply must fill out an Advisory Committee application available on the city’s Web site at www.mysanibel.com, City Forms – Advisory Committee Application, at City Hall or by calling 472-3700.
