Fort Myers police investigating hit and run
Police are searching for a dark-colored pickup truck believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist seriously injured Saturday night.
The Fort Myers Police Department responded to the 500 block of Van Buren Street at 7:32 p.m. in reference to a man lying near the railroad tracks. Upon arrival police learned Miguel Santos, 46, had been riding his bicycle and was the victim of a hit and run. He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Police located a witness who said a dark colored, possibly green, Chevy pickup truck, hit Santos and took off. Investigators believe the truck has damage to the front of the vehicle and possibly the windshield.
