JRobert bringing swamp music sound to The Community House

By Staff | Mar 24, 2010

Singer/songwriter JRobert, a fourth generation Floridian, will perform at The Community House on Sanibel on April 7.

The Sanibel Community Association will welcome Southwest Florida entertainer and Marco Island resident JRobert as the featured artist for this month’s Danny Morgan Production of “Songwriters Blend” at The Community House on Wednesday, April 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Community House will once again transform itself into an intimate coffee house setting where you can stop by after dinner for great music and drinks. Sit back and relax with a glass of wine, drink or a cup of Sanibel Bean coffee and enjoy the varied musical talents of JRoberts as he plays tropical guitar, steel pan, Florida fiddle and sings.

JRobert is a real fourth generation Floridian who enjoys performing Cajun/Zydeco-influenced swamp music, Florida Blues and original ballads. He has performed at America’s oldest “Florida Folk Festival” in White Springs as a native songwriter and fiddle player with Seminole Chief Jim Billie. He has served as a warmup act for many national artists including Tom T Hall, Billy Dean and John Anderson, Doug Kershaw, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Buffy Saint-Marie, John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, as well as Jimmy Buffett.

In addition, JRobert has toured performed in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Switzerland, Germany and England.

Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at The Community House, located at 2173 Periwinkle Way, or at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
