March 24 special meeting to offer review of final LDC draft

By Staff | Mar 18, 2010

The Captiva Community Panel will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, March 24, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Cone Rooms of Chadwick’s Square at South Seas Island Resort, 5400 Plantation Road.

The session will begin at 9 a.m., and will be lead by planner Max Forgey of Morris-Depew Associates Inc.

The purpose of the special meeting, scheduled due to a unanimously approved motion during the March 9 meeting of the panel, is to review the latest draft of proposed land development code language, including changes made following that March 9 meeting.

The Captiva Community Panel will have their next regular meeting on Tuesday, April 13, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Wakefield Room at ‘Tween Waters Inn, 15951 Captiva Drive.

The main issue to be addressed will be the final draft of the proposed Land Development Code for Captiva — the subject of years of work and months of meetings. Forgey will summarize the final draft and the panel will initiate the final round of public discussions and revisions prior to submittal to the county for review and approval.

A copy of the draft as it is now is available online at www.captivacommunitypanel.com, and other materials related to the draft will be available electronically if possible to help Captivans better understand the changes and improvements being proposed to the code language.

The Lee County Land Code Development maps are available for public view at the Captiva Memorial Library during regular library hours.
