Sobczak, Lemmon to appear at Island Book Nook
Sanibel author Charlie Sobczak will be signing copies of his newly released “Living Sanibel, A Nature Guide to Sanibel & Captiva Islands,” as well as his other books at The Island Book Nook on Friday, March 26 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Sobczak lives and writes on Sanibel Island. He formed Indigo Press, L.L.C. in 1999 with the publication of his first novel, “Six Mornings On Sanibel.” Subsequent books include “Way Under Contract, A Florida Story,” “Rhythm of the Tides,” “A Choice of Angels,” “Alligators, Sharks & Panthers: Deadly Encounters with Florida’s Top Predator-Man” and “Chain of Fools.”
Along with writing, Sobczak works full time as a Realtor with the VIP Realty Group. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, Molly Heuer, and their two sons, Logan (20) and Blake (18). Charles is a lifetime member of SCCF, President of Lee Reefs, Past President of START (Solutions to Avoid Red Tide) and the Sanibel Island Fishing Club. He is also a member of PURRE and an avid offshore angler.
On the following day, fellow Sanibel author Christine Lemmon will be signing copies of her newly releasing gift book, “Whisper from the Ocean,” as well as her three island novels at The Island Book Nook. Her appearance on Saturday, March 27 will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lemmon’s first novel, “Sanibel Scribbles,” shows readers how they must discover an island of their own where they can pause and reflect. Her second novel encourages readers to pick up their paddles and row out to their own “Portion of the Sea” that they may reclaim their heart’s and soul’s lost treasures. “Sand In My Eyes,” Lemmon’s third novel, heartens transformation in those readers so overwhelmed that they can barely see the beauty around them. Her latest release, the hardcover gift book “Whisper from the Ocean,” gathers the most treasured quotations from these three novels into a collection sure to provoke and sooth the meaning seekers among us.
Lemmon has lived all over the country writing for radio, newspapers and magazines. She now lives with her husband and three children on Sanibel, the setting of her three novels.
